A Special Guest

Last November 5 was a club day. But it wasn't the usual and ordinary club day. No. We had a guest speaker. We , as an entire club, were able to talk to the one and only Patty Laurel-Filart. To be quite honest, I don't really know anything about her. I only know that she's a professional blogger. Aside from what I said, I know nothing else.

Mrs. Patty Laurel-Filart talked about Blog Lovin' 101. Listening to her made me learn a lot of things. Actually.. I think all of us learnt something new when we listened to her.

Let me give you a somewhat short summary of what she talked about:

1.) Don't be someone you're not.

When we're blogging, we should stay true to who we are. You shouldn't be someone who is loud and happy-go-lucky when you're actually someone who's shy and timid.

2.) What you post can affect someone in a good and bad way.

Yes, we can post whatever we want on our blog. It can either be an own opinion or a comment about current events. But, we must be aware that what we post can hurt someone. We ought to be careful of what we write and post. It's the internet. We have the free will and voice to speak up. Let's just try our best to be a positive voice in the blogging world. ^^

3.)Love blogging.

It's pretty self-explanatory if you ask me. Blogging should be something you do to make yourself happy.

I think that's all for now. ^^ Oh and here's our group picture with Ms. Patty Laurel-Filart:

Have A Green Thumb

Oct. 8 was a club day and we had an activity. We were told to enter the other clubs and observe what they did in those clubs. Others were assigned to observe the art club, the baking club, the film club, and many more. My partner and I were told to observe the gardening club, Green Thumb, which is handled by Ms. Charmaine Dasco.

Our club adviser told us before we left that we could join the activity the other club was having if we were asked to. Thankfully, they didn't ask me to join their activity. They were planting cacti.

Not only were they supposed to plant cacti, but also decorate the surroundings of the cacti that they planted. Luckily, I was able to take pictures of some of the students' "cacti environment" x) [Note: Some chose to not to plant cacti haha.]

A student stuck a lizard on her cactus; however, the club adviser took it off because it was too "harsh" :))

I expected Green Thumb to be quiet since most of the time they're planting. It turns out they're not. x) They're quite noisy but in a good way (?) :)

Sorry for the semi-hiatus and thanks if you read this post until this part..

Have a nice day and DFTBA,

Top 5 Music Artists/Bands

Everyday, I listen to music. I'd be usually found with earpods in my ears and if not that.. I'd be humming or singing in my head x) So now I just want to share with you guys some of my favorite music artists :]

1.) All Time Low
Band members (left to right): Jack Barakat, Alex Gaskarth, Rian Dawson, and Zack Merrick
All Time Low is a pop-punk band from Baltimore that formed in 2003. I kept seeing pictures of them online and thought: "hmm, I should try to listen to this band." So I listened to one of their songs. I forgot what song I listened to though x) I didn't know that listening to one of their songs would make them my favorite band.

2.) Panic! At The Disco
Spencer Smith (left) & Brendon Urie (right)
Panic! At The Disco is an American rock band from Las Vegas that formed in 2004. I believe this is how I found this band: A few years ago, I kept hearing one of their songs. That song of theirs was really catchy in a a way. So, I searched the lyrics of that song and kept listening it for days. The first song of theirs that I listened to was "The Ballad Of Mona Lisa" After listening to it, I listened to another one of their songs. Then another. Then another. And so on....

3.) Fall Out Boy
Band members (left to right): Andy Hurley, Patrick Stump, Joe Trohman, and Pete Wentz
So I started liking this band at the start of 2013. In other words, I started liking them when they got back from their hiatus. I listened to some of their songs before but.. I don't actually know why I didn't like them before. x)

4.) Marina and the Diamonds
Marina Diamandis
Okay to be quite honest, when I first heard of Marina and The Diamonds, I thought it was a band.. Turns out it isn't.. I like her because she has a very unique voice and her songs are a bit different to the ones I usually hear.

5.) Lindsey Stirling
Uhh I know that this music artist is a bit different from the ones above.. Since she's mostly famous for being a violinist. But I just love her violin covers of some songs and also her original ones :]

So yeah. Those were my top five music artists/bands. So if you were able to read this entire post until here, thanks x)

P.S.: You should visit Godwin's blog. He also loves music :D

Awkward....

Hello. Long time no post x)

So yeah, that's me :) I think I was three years old when that picture was taken. I was wearing my brother's medal hehe. I find it strange that it's been more than a decade since the picture above was taken.

This was a club assignment, but I have to admit that after I read the Awkward Years Project article, I wanted to post something similar.

When I was young, I was really playful. Sometimes, my family got annoyed on how much I wanted to play. But if you compare it to how I act now....I'm not that childish and playful anymore (ok maybe I am)

I think the only thing that remained since I was young is how I dress. I still wear the usual jeans, t-shirt, and sneakers. I guess I'm just used to dressing like that. And...I'm not fond of wearing skirts, sandals or heels....

Time passes and people change. There's probably no denying that. I admit that I've changed. Not just only physically, but also mentally and emotionally.

But, I'm still the playful and childish kid at heart :) Growing old is inevitable. Growing up is optional.

Fortuity

Hey. I took this picture last year during our grade 7 field trip at La Mesa Ecopark. And in my opinion, the quote I got really fits on how I took the picture. (BTW the quote is from Winston Churchill : ) )

We were told to climb the steps so that we could see the dam. And I really wanted to see it.
I was almost at the top but unfortunately, we were ordered to go back down at once. I DIDN'T EVEN GET TO SEE THE DAM. :< I turned around and the view I had took my breath away. I quickly took out my phone (since I didn't bring a camera for the trip) and took a picture of my view. I'd say this shot is worth all those steps I climbed : )

My first reaction when we were told to climb the steps was 'WHAT?! All these steps just so I could see the dam??' I chose to climb because I really wanted to see the dam and I would be left alone if I didn't climb ._.

Aside from how I took the picture, I think the quote fits my blog and it perfectly describes me. My blog will be about my experiences, things that have happened, and my opinions. My URL and blog title describe me : ) I see the difficulty in every opportunity yet I see an opportunity in every difficulty.
